MARIBE ADVISORY SESSION
MARIBE aims to unlock the potential of multi-use of space in the offshore economy. Having explored the opportunities that exist for cooperation between different Blue Growth and Blue Economy sectors, the consortium worked with companies from these marine sectors to develop 9 multi-use of space or multi-use platform projects. The consortium’s expertise was utilised to assist companies with their business and financial models. The project also hosted an advisory session event in June to further assist in the development of these project.
The Advisory Session provided a platform for the companies to present their projects in front of an external advisory panel. The panel contained representatives from: DNB Norway, European Aquaculture Society, Scottish Investment Bank, ORE Catapult, Ocean Energy, Federation of European Aquaculture Producers, DP Energy, QED Naval, 1-Tech, International Energy Agency, World Ocean Council, Black & Veatch, Ernst & Young, E-Cube, INNOSEA and The Crown Estate. The event offered companies an opportunity to have their business plans and financial models assessed by impartial experts across a range of fields relevant to Blue Growth and receive feedback and advice. Due to the confidential nature of the material discussed at the advisory session, attendance at this event was restricted and presentations are not available.
In parallel to the Advisory Session, a B2B event was also run. Companies had the opportunity to meet individually with panel experts and selected investors. Over 60 meetings took place over the 2-day event.
A networking dinner was hosted on the evening of the 15th of June. The event was opened by Ms Marie Donnelly, Director for Renewables, Research and Innovation, Energy Efficiency within DG Energy. Ms Gesine Meissner, MEP, also spoke at the event.
